Thinking of the People of Chengdu

Ken and I have Chengdu very much on our minds today, as news of the powerful earthquake in that region is being constantly updated, with the death toll going higher and higher. Chengdu is where Ken worked for two years and where I spent three months as well. Chengdu is only 57 miles from the epicenter of the quake.

We have had one e-mail this afternoon from our friends Charlie and Echo in Chengdu. They said all is well with the workers at Aerotech, but they added that the aftershocks continue to be frightening.

I've been thinking of my housekeeper, Zhung, and wondering how she and her family are.

So many of the Chinese have so little; now many have lost even that.

  1. Hi Jean, thanks for visiting my blog! I would love to send you the linen handkerchief that has your initials! I'm so glad to have found it a home so quickly. Please email me with an address, thanks!

Also thinking of China, what a horrible tragedy.

  2. Such a very sad time for the Chinese people. It hurts to think of the death toll numbers as they keep rising.
