Thinking of Mum

I think of my mother often. She lived to be almost 102, and throughout her life she was an energetic, optimistic, caring woman. She lived independently until a hip injury, at age 98, no longer made that possible.

As I grow older, I realize more and more the impact she had on me and I'm more appreciative of the woman she was.

My mother came through for me again today, although she has been gone almost two years. I searched in vain in my collection of crochet hooks for a size G. Not finding a G, I tried making do with an H and then an F. Neither was a good choice.

Suddenly I remembered I have a few of Mum's crochet hooks in a handmade holder. I went to my bedroom, found the holder, pulled out the first hook, and it was a "G." Thank you, Mum.  I miss you.

  2. What an amazing woman your mom was. How wonderful that she was able to live independently until 98. I hope you have inherited her terrific genes.
