Molly Brown, our chocolate Lab, likes to be all but attached to me, especially when I'm working in the kitchen.
I did a lot of baking this morning, so Molly B sprawled in the middle of my path to the counters and sink.
I do a lot of climbing over her to get where I'm going, and I often catch myself saying, "Excuse me, Molly," as I step to the other side of her.
Heaven forbid she should be disturbed, right?
The last photo here shows Molly in her favorite pose. She loves to cross her front paws when she's relaxing and taking in the goings-on around her.

This gives her a very lady-like appearance, don't you think?
Molly was diagnosed with Lyme disease last week. This came as a surprise to us. Suddenly she started limping badly and had a hard time getting up. Then she refused to eat. When Molly refuses to eat, something is definitely wrong.
A trip to the vet the day after this strange behavior started, and a blood test, confirmed it's Lyme disease.
that's scary lyme disease...have to check humans also.
ReplyDeleteYes, Lyme disease is a real problem for humans as well as dogs here in Maine. I've seen very few ticks this year, but I heard recently that Lyme disease in humans has increased a lot.
ReplyDeleteLoved Molly's photos! She knows a good thing when she has it. She does pose very fetchingly. Nice photo Aunt Roberta took. I read that Lyme disease is on the increase, we have many here in our area. Buddy has a monthly treatment against Lyme disease, through November now. We are always checking ourselves any time we are out longer than a few minutes!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I meant to say we had many ticks here that can carry the disease, in our area. I think alot of them reside in my back yard!
ReplyDeleteLove how Miss Molly loves to help. Does she give you the big "sigh" when she's disturbed? Sorry to hear about the Lyme disease, glad she's feeling better, seems like a day of baking did wonders for her!
ReplyDeleteI liked your Antique Alley post too.
ReplyDeleteAnd this one is really a great post for all those who have dogs. I am happy it was caught and is being treated now and that Molly is on the mend again. Good girl.
I just love that cross pawed pose. Lyme disease? Yikes! Thank goodness Molly is all right.
