Scared the wits out of me. What are these people thinking?? I thought it was scary to encounter a driver on his cell phone while trying to maneuver a heavy piece of steel going 50 m.p.h., but this was even worse.
Is there something I'm not understanding? Is it really possible to drive a car and carry on a telephone conversation or text-message at the same time?
While I am not advocating either, I see texting as very dangerous!! Hands free phone conversation is distracting, but doesn't require your eyes leaving the road. I probably would have honked my horn to raise her awareness!
ReplyDeleteOne time while driving, there was a kid in the backseat of a car that had a sign[8x11] in black thick marker that held up said:
Get off the phone and drive the car!![I wasn't on the phone.]
It was great, though.
Scary. Just scary.
ReplyDeleteYikes...that is so scary. I have yet to see someone texting while driving but I'm sure I'll see it soon. Last night Camden and I almost got creamed while IN A CROSSWALK (at the grocery store) by some lady who was speeding in the parking lot, too busy talking to her girlfriend in the passenger seat. When I yelled, "slow down!" she looked at me like I had two heads.
ReplyDeleteGood grief! That's terrible. Chicago has a law against cellphone usage while driving. You have to get the handsfree type phone. However, once you leave Chicago, you do see people talking on cellphones while they drive. It just makes me crazy. They tell you that using a cellphone is worst than driving drunk. Sheesh! But texting? Sheesh! Sheesh!
