Act of desperation

Let's face it: Sometimes we're driven to acts of desperation.

I just committed such an act.

I grabbed a rake and began removing leaves from my little flower garden in front of the kitchen window.

I uncovered some daffodils starting to come up, some primrose leaves, maybe some hostas.

The reason I suspect this qualifies as an act of desperation is because....

...this is what the rest of the front lawn looks like.

Note to self: Next November, do NOT start whining and fussing about "hoping we get a lot of snow this winter." Sometimes we get what we ask for.

  1. Oh, I so agree with you. This cold, wet spring has even made Texas look good to me. I'm really desperate when that happens.

  2. Oh dear. You are desperate. And for good reason. We don't have snow, but lots of cold rain. Things are growing and blooming, but oh, so slowly.
Climate change, if that's what's happening, is not fun so far.

  3. well it really depends on where you live. I love So. Utah high mountain deserts for their mild winters and little snow. Our trees are already out but we'll be blistering hot in summer which come too soon.

  4. Doesn't Mother Nature know it's spring already? It's April, for goodness sake. Time for that snow to melt. I'm hoping that next week, all that snow will have melted and the daffodils will be budding.

  6. I wish I could send all of you some sunshine. We need moisture and rain here. We've had so much wind that we are complaining about that. I think it is sending all the moisture to other places when we need it so badly.
