Long day's journey into night...into day...into night

Last evening we arrived in Singapore, tired but happy to have finally gotten here.

Our flight from Chicago on Tuesday, which was supposed to leave at 1:00 p.m., finally left four hours later. We were 14 hours from Chicago to Hong Kong, then 2 1/2 more hours on to Singapore. So we arrived here at about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, which was 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Maine.

Ken said after we reached our hotel that it sure seemed nice to be able to sleep in a horizontal position. I agreed!

Today our friend Tan has sightseeing plans for us, so I'm sure I'll have photos to share this evening.

  1. Oh my goodness, somehow I missed that you were taking this trip.

Our son called from Japan a little while ago, they were getting ready to head to the airport for their return home. Flying time coming back is 3 hours less than going over was.

  4. What a long trip but well worth it I'm sure. I had to chuckle over Uncle Ken's comment about sleeping! Looking forward to "traveling" along with you!
